2025 SCHEDULE
THURSDAY, OCTOBER 2
Registration / Swag Pick-up | 12 – 8pm
Buy/pick up your festival tickets and swag at the Castle Dale Visitors Center. Beat the crowds and get here early to start enjoying your stay in Emery County. It’s a great time to use your free ticket to the Museum of the San Rafael or use your free Food Vouchers at a local restaurant. Then head to Orangeville for all the Thursday evening festivities.
Castle Dale / Orangeville Photo Scavenger Hunt | 12pm
Just getting into the area and want to get oriented? And earn an extra ticket for the big prize drawings? Complete the Fest Quest photo scavenger hunt in the towns of Castle Dale and Orangeville. You can complete any time before Saturday at noon but this is a great time to get started. Download the instructions or pick up at registration.
In Town Volunteer Project | 2 – 4pm
A big part of the Joe’s Valley Fest is giving back to both the climbing and local communities. This year we’re adding an extra in town option outside of Stewardship Sunday. Join us to help paint the buildings at Orangeville City Park!
Bend and Brew | 4 – 5pm
Orangeville Olympics | 5 – 9pm
Come out to the Orangeville City Park to compete, spectate, or just have some fun at this new addition to the Fest! There will be Cornhole, Pickleball, Horseshoes and other games. Grab food from local vendors and listen to music from Desert Sage. Or how about some crafts and coloring projects with the kiddos? Bring the whole family and check it out!
Cornhole Tournament | 6 – 9pm
Sign up and join in the fun at the Orangeville City Park by the Community Center. Free entry, prizes awarded!
Pickleball Tournament | 6 – 9pm
Sign up and join in the fun at the Orangeville City Park by the courts. Free entry, prizes awarded!
Night Bouldering Meet-Up Man Size | 9pm – Midnight
Meet at the Castle Dale Visitors Center to caravan or take the shuttle bus to the Man Size boulders. Come solo or bring your crew as we light up the night. If you are driving directly to Man Size, please carpool as parking is limited. Bring your own headlamp, lights and crash pads if you have them. But plenty of pads and lights will be available if you don’t!
FRIDAY, OCTOBER 3

Kodiak Pancake Breakfast | 8am - 9:30am
Free breakfast for ticketed attendees! We’ll be whipping up Kodiak pancakes to get the weekend started right! Stop by the Emery County Rec Center.
Shoe Demo | 8am – 10am
Free climbing shoe demos! Get here early to try some climbing shoes on and take them out to the boulders for the morning sessions. At the Emery County Rec Center.
Morning Yoga | 9am – 10am
Climbing Clinics | 9am – 2pm
Meet at the Emery County Rec Center to learn from the pros about everything from shorty beta to technique tips to how to capture it best on camera. Space is limited so buy your tickets early! Bring your crash pad if you have one but we’ll have you covered, if not. If needed, get shoes ahead of time at the Shoe Demo! *Additional ticket required.
Find a Climbing Partner Meet-up | 10 – 10:30am
Not doing a clinic or meet-up but still want to climb with folks? Grab a refreshing drink at Cup of Joes and mingle on their outdoor patio to find a new friend or assemble a whole crew to go hit the boulders. Be bold! It’s going to be great!
Geology of Joe's Valley | 11am – 2pm
Have you ever wondered what makes Joe's Valley one of the top bouldering areas in the world? Meet Geologist Pete Kilborne and Paul Anderson at Braun Lapidary, Castle Dale's rock shop, then board the shuttle bus to the canyons to talk shop about rocks. *Additional ticket required.
Local Artisan Clinic - Makin' Food Ranch Donuts | 2 – 3pm
Come learn how to make the world famous Food Ranch donuts and take some home with you! See how the process works end to end from the experts. Then get creative customizing with dozens of toppings. All ending in an epic tasting session! Meet at the Food Ranch. *Additional ticket required.
Trade Fair | 2 – 7pm
Castle Dale is the place to be Saturday afternoon and evening! There will be sponsor and non-profit booths, artisan vendors, and local kids from the Junior Entrepreneurs selling their wares. Pop back and forth between the Trade Fair, the Block Party, and the Climber Games, all on the Emery County Rec Center lawn.
Food Trucks | 2 – 8pm
Enjoy some amazing food from our local food connoisseurs, including Gettin' Our Smoke On's gourmet brisket and bbq'd food cooked with real wood! At the Emery County Rec Center. Your food vouchers from your swag bag are good at all Food Trucks as well as the local businesses listed on them.
Mechanical Bull | 3 – 6pm
Not quite ready for the real thing? Or just want a little practice before you join the Rodeo Games? Either way, get your yeehaw on the lawn outside the Castle Dale Rodeo Grounds.
Rodeo Classes | 4:30 – 6:30pm
At the Castle Dale Rodeo Grounds. Learn how to use a lasso, ride a horse, and get tips on how to ride a steer! Join the steer riding class to get first dibs on sign-ups for the Rodeo Games. And get a souvenir photo with Geronimo the Bull!
Rodeo Games Sign-ups | 5:30pm
Sign up for steer riding and hide racing on the lawn outside the Castle Dale Rodeo Grounds (by the Mechanical Bull). First dibs on steer riding sign-ups will be given to those that take the steer riding class (Rodeo Classes starting at 4:30pm as noted above). The rest are first come, first served starting at 5:30pm. Must be over 18 years of age. Make sure to wear your closed toed shoes and pants. These are required. Safety vest/jacket and helmet are also required but will be provided. Let’s go!!!
Rodeo Games | 6:30 – 9pm
At the outdoor arena at the Castle Dale Rodeo Grounds. The games will feature everything from chicken chases to hide races. Don't forget the steer riding! Absolutely the highlight of the Fest. For our 10th year, we've brought in some pros to show us how it's really done. Don't miss the bareback and saddle bronc horse riders as well as some real bucking bulls!
Bonfire and S'mores | 8:30 – 10:30pm
Enjoy a sweet treat and make some new friends around the fire. Meet at the Emery County Rec Center lawn.

JVF Block Party | 4 – 6pm
Enjoy some cold beverages, live music, FREE shaved ice, and general hanging out at the Emery County Rec Center lawn. Send the kids (or yourself) up the in town climbing wall to warm up for the Climber Games.
Climber Games | 4:30 – 6:30pm
Put those unique climber skills to the test (or just come watch the fun) with some wacky games like table bouldering, chalk pot pong, and crate stacking. Check out the salmon ladder and Ninja Line while you’re there, too. All at the Emery County Rec Center!
Drawing for Prizes! | 7 – 9pm
Come to the Emery County Rec Center Pavilion for our HUGE drawing of amazing products from our sponsors! One free ticket comes in your swag bag and buy more at the Castle Dale Visitors Center to improve your chances!
Joe-down! | 9 – 10:30pm
You may have heard of hoedowns and hootenannies but you’ve never experienced a Joe-down before! Grab your dancing shoes and close out the night with a rootin’ tootin’ good time.
SUNDAY, OCTOBER 5
Coffee & Donuts | 8 – 9am
Brought to you by Food Ranch and Cup of Joe’s. Meet at Food Ranch parking lot to get your caffeine and sugar fix with the Joe’s Valley Coalition team. Find out what they’ve been working on the past year and what’s coming up to protect access, reduce erosion, and increase safety around your favorite problems. And give your inputs on Coalition priorities for the next year!
Service Day | 9am – 12pm
Hosted by the Joe’s Valley Coalition. Meet at the Food Ranch at 9am and pick your project. If you have just an hour or so, help us pick up trash around town. If you have just a little bit more time, join us for a few hours of light trail work. What better way to close out the Fest than by giving back a little (and having a last little bit of fun with your friends)? See you there!
