About The Coalition

Why do we need the Coalition?

Joe's Valley sees upwards of 15,000 climbers annually, representing 6 continents. As Joe's Valley climbing areas continue to grow, the Coalition aims to develop and implement sustainable climbing areas and support a healthy local community. When you become a member, your dues help to ensure access, educate the community on best practices, improve trails and landings, install signage, clean-up crags, and create a sustainable and lasting environment for a growing outdoor user base.

but we can’t do it alone. Help protect Joe’s Valley with a few simple guidelines:

  • Don’t climb on wet rock - give it 24-48 hours after rain to dry

  • Stay on established trails

  • Pack it in, pack it out

  • Brush your tick marks

  • Don’t deface rock (duh!) - no painting, carving, chipping, wire brushes, etc.

  • If you have to go #2, get to a toilet or use a wag bag

  • Control your pets

  • Traffic laws still apply - park & walk off the road, follow posted speed limits

want to get more involved?

Volunteer your time at one of our many Stewardship Days held throughout the year! We’ve been building new trails, updating and adding new landings, installing signage and so much more!
